The ordinary days are often the ones we miss most.
Clifford Dennis Morgan passed away peacefully on May 20, 2024, in Hurley, SD, at the age of 73. Born on November 13, 1950, in Poteau, OK, Clif had a head strong spirit, yet he was gentle and tender hearted. Services will be held at a later date in Oklahoma He is survived by his loving wife, Debi Morgan; Daughters: Holly Morgan of Whitesboro, TX, and Staci Peterson and her husband, Bree, of Mt. Vernon, TX. His grandchildren: Meagan Dodson, Emily Dodson, Kollin Pletcher, Luke Dodson, Kason Pletcher, and Daniel Johnson, as well as his great-grandchildren: Roman, Cooper, Kaden, Emerson, Jackson, and Ava-Kay. They all affectionately called him Pops. Clif also leaves behind his brother, Jerry Morgan and wife Keta, and sister, Mary Ann Broomfield. Preceding him in death were his parents, Easton and Buena Morgan, his brothers, Raymond and Cecil Morgan, and his sister, Norma Hinton. Clif's early years in Red Oak, Oklahoma laid the foundation for a life full of love, hard work, and adventure. He graduated from Red Oak High School before furthering his education at the University of Oklahoma. Clif's professional life was marked by dedication and skill in pipeline construction, where he was recognized as one of the top backhoe operators in the nation. He concluded his career with distinction as a Pipeline Inspector. Over the years, Clif and Debi had many fur babies. Two of his favorites were Tipper and Poppy. Clif was an avid reader with an extensive collection of books, and he shared his love for J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings" with his children and grandchildren, often reciting his favorite passages by heart. He had great enthusiasm for horse racing and his wish was to attend all three races of the Triple Crown. Clif also had a deep appreciation for nature, teaching his daughters to swim in the strip pits of Oklahoma and instilling in them a love for the water that they carry to this day. He was an avid collector of guns and loved to wear his cowboy hats. Despite facing debilitating physical conditions throughout his life, he confronted each challenge with resilience and determination. His independence and hardworking nature were sources of inspiration to his family and friends. His family always longed for more time with him. Though he may no longer be present on earth, his spirit lives on in the hearts of his family, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories. Clif's story does not end with his passing; it is carried forward in the lives of those he loved and who loved him in return. We find comfort in knowing that we will be reunited with him in Heaven.
