Dale Hovaldt, 78,, has passed away, leaving behind a family and community who loved him dearly.

Dale D. Hovaldt Dale Hovaldt, 78, died Sunday, March 27, 2022 at home under hospice care. Memorial services will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at the Sioux Falls Adventist Church, 1604 S Sierra Circle, Sioux Falls. Burial will be at the SD Veterans Cemetery at a later date. Dale Dawine Hovaldt was born on July 27, 1943 at Parker, SD to Anna (Dreesman) and Herman Eugene Hovaldt. When he was very young due to the death of his Mother his father remarried Grace (Kars) Hovaldt which he always considered his Mom. After attending school in Parker he proudly served in the US Army in Vietnam. On March 18, 1961 he was united in marriage to Marcia Jon Feller at Rock Rapids, Iowa. They lived in several places across the US while he was in the service. After his discharge they lived in Gettysburg, SD for a short time before moving to the Sioux Falls area. Over the years he was employed as a truck driver, at John Morrell and Co and as a welder at Hi Roller Conveyors. After retirement he worked part time and they enjoyed being snowbirds in Texas. His wife Marcia died in 2018. Grateful for having share his life are his sons, Clayton, of Egan, Victor, of Sioux Falls, Sheldon (Jolynn) of Canton, Herman (Tonya) of Harrisburg, and Christian (Sally) of Larchwood; 13 grandchildren and many great grandchildren; a sister Adrienne Tripp of Lennox and a brother Dennis of Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife, a son Troy, 2 brothers Jay and Chris, and 2 sisters Donna and JoAnne.
