Delores M. Nielsen, 95 of Viborg, died Saturday, April 25, 2020 at the Centerville Care Center. Private family services will be held on Friday at the Hofmeister Jones Funeral Chapel in Viborg with burial at Bethania Cemetery, Viborg. Delores Marie Nielsen was born on February 6, 1925 in Yankton County, SD to Lars and Mae (Hansen) Christensen. She grew up in the Viborg area where she attended country school. On December 29, 1944 she was united in marriage to Stanley Nielsen at Luverne, MN. After Stanley was discharged from the Navy they lived in Viborg until 1977 when they moved to Rapid City, SD. After his retirement they traveled extensively around the US and Canada in their camper. She also had a love for music and dancing. In 1998 they moved back to Viborg and for the past five years she has been a resident of the Centerville Care Center. Her husband died in 2007. Grateful for having shared her life are 4 children, Dennis (Kay) Nielsen, Omaha, NE, Carolyn Burns, Sun Lakes, AZ, Dean (Bonny) Nielsen, Sioux Falls, and Angela Nielsen, Phoenix, AZ; 5 grandchildren, Aaron, David, Jennifer, Curtis, Doug and Isabella ; and 5 great grandchildren, Hannah, Charles, Aaden, Evett and Savanah. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Stanley, and her brother Curtis.
