Janet Faye Christensen, 77 died Tuesday, February 7, 2017 under hospice care. Private family services will be held at the Hofmeister Jones Funeral Home, Parker. Janet Faye Gardiner was born on August 1, 1939 in Minor County, SD to Paul and Lena (Hart) Gardiner. She moved with her family to the Hartford/Humboldt area where she graduated from Humboldt High School. On July 25, 1957 she was united in marriage to Richard Allen Christensen. They lived in Sioux Falls until moving to an acreage in the Baltic/Renner area. She was employed for a time as a sales clerk at Montgomery Wards in the Western Mall. She loved arts and crafts, gardening, and animals. Grateful for having shared her life are 3 children, Kevin (Sue) Christensen, Sioux Falls, Lori Christensen, Chancellor, SD, and Lynette (Jim) Schmidt, Fargo, ND; 6 grandchildren, Chandra (Eric) Knock, Jamie Van Vliet, Katie (Drew) Christensen, Angie (Tyler) Fernandez, Nick (Ally) Christensen, and Lindsey (Matt) Junger; 9 great grandchildren, Bryce, Hunter, and Garrett Knock, Matthew, Seth, Alex, and Jake Van Vliet, Kaylynn Christensen, and Seamus Jungers; 2 brothers, Paul (Kathy) Gardiner and Jeff Gardiner, and a sister Linda (Ron) Wieman. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard in 2015, and a sister Phyllis Underberg.
