It is with sorrow and gratitude that we mark the passing of Martha Ensz, 85, — sorrow at the loss, gratitude for the life.

Here is a glimpse of the life she lived, in her family's own remembrance.

Martha entered this world in 1930 — the start of a journey that would span 86 years.

A long life is not measured in days but in the people gathered along the way.

Martha R. Ensz, 85 of Marion died Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at her home under hospice care. Memorial services will be at 2:00pm Thursday, April 7, 2016 at the Tieszen Home Chapel, Marion. Arrangements by Hofmeister Jones Funeral Home. Martha Rose was born on April 14, 1930 at Iredell, Texas to Huber and Juanita (Boycan) Turner. She grew up in Texas where she graduated from Carlton High School in 1948. She moved to Dallas where she worked several jobs before starting employment with the Frito Lay Chip Company in 1980 where she was in data entry until her retirement in 1991. On February 12, 1960 she was united in marriage to Darrell Cranfill at Dallas, Texas. They lived in Dallas and also enjoyed spending time at their lake home. Darrell died in 1992. In 1997 she was united in marriage to Donald Ensz and they lived in Marion, SD. They spent winters in Texas and later on in Florida. Don died in 2012. Grateful for having shared her life are her nieces and nephews, step sons and their families, and special friends the Luke family. She was preceded in death by her three sisters.
