Noreen "Dolly" Ortman, 82, has gone home, leaving behind a circle of those who loved her.

Born in 1934, Noreen began a life that would touch many along the way.
Noreen held deeply to the Catholic faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.

Noreen "Dolly" Ortman Noreen "Dolly" Ortman, 82, died Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30am Monday, February 27, 2017 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Sioux Falls with burial at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Marion. Visitation will be from 2-5pm Sunday at Heritage Funeral Home with a Scripture Service to be said at 7:30pm Sunday evening at the church. Noreen Elizabeth "Dolly" was born on June 29, 1934 at Marion, SD to Earl and Elizabeth (Behrendt) Dains, the youngest of ten children. She grew up in Marion and graduated from Marion High School in 1952. After high school she was employed at Wagner Drug Store in Marion and was crowned Miss Diamond Jubilee for Marion's 75th aniversary. On November 12, 1955 she was united in marriage to Eugene Ortman at Mare Island, CA. They lived in Sioux Falls where they raised their children. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and formerly of St. Lamberts Catholic Church, she was active in the church and the choir. She enjoyed baking, watching her kids and grandkids sporting and school events. She and Gene enjoyed traveling, especially to his Navy reunions, and attending water exercises at the Avera Fitness Center. Her husband Eugene "Butch" died in 2009. Grateful for having shared her life are her 6 children, Tami (Rob) Thiry, Liz (Dale) Bute, Mike Ortman, Terese Ortman, Jon Ortman, all of Sioux Falls, and Melanie (Brian) Postma, Slayton, MN; 9 grandchildren, Jennifer, Kelli, Aaron, Shannon, Sarah, Patrick, Mindy, Angie, and Ashley; 7 great grandchildren, Chase, Abby, Brayden, Emma, Noah, Adalynn, and Ava; a brother Kenny (Rosemary) Dains, Sioux Falls; and a sister Geraldine Dains, Sioux Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Eugene "Butch", and 7 brothers and sisters, Alva, Earl, Nadine, Darlyne, Marvin, Donald and Vernon "Bruz".
