Harold Brucklacher, 79 of Sioux Falls and formerly Parker, died on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Southridge Care Center, Sioux Falls. Memorial services will be at 7:00pm Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Heritage Funeral Home, Sioux Falls, SD. Harold Maynard Brucklacher was born November 16, 1934 to John and Edna (Downer) Brucklacher near Freeman, SD. In 1953 Harold served in the US Army, having been stationed in Korea. On January 15, 1956 he was united in marriage to June Brennan. He farmed until moving to Parker where he was employed with the Ford Garage. He served as a volunteer fireman with the Parker Fire Department for many years, including serving as fire chief. In 1990 Harold went trucking. June moved to S.F. and lives with her daughter. He loved to visit and drink coffee and acquired a host of friends. He also had a love of animals especially dogs. Grateful for having shared his life are his daughter Susan, a son Gary, and the children's mother June (Brennan) Brucklacher, all from Sioux Falls.; his brother Alvin (Lenore) of Phillip, his sister Alice (Mac) Melin, of Hartford, and his brother Ervin (Marlene) of Freeman. Harold is also survived by "an adopted brother" Vern Anderson and his wife Kay of Sioux Falls. Harold is also survived by many good friends, nieces and nephews. Harold was preceded in death by: His parents, a brother and sister in-law LaVerne and Bernice Brucklacher who both just passed away. In lieu of flowers please direct memorials to the Sioux Falls Humane Society.
