After a life of love and quiet grace, Ramona Begeman, 85, has passed.
What follows is a brief look at the life her family wishes to share.
Ramona entered this world in 1935 — the start of a journey that would span 85 years.
Ramona saw decades come and go, and held the lessons of each.
Ramona J. Begeman, 85 of Parker died Monday, September 21, 2020 at the Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home in Viborg. Funeral services will be at 10:00am Friday, September 25, 2020 at Hofmeister Jones Funeral Home in Parker with burial at Rosehill Cemetery, Parker. Visitation will be from 5-7pm Thursday at the funeral home. To watch Ramona's service, click here : https://youtu.be/aLJH1BozyjE Ramona Jean (Versteeg) Begeman was born on April 19, 1935 near Monroe, SD to Arie and Gertrude (Noordsey) Versteeg. She attended school in Monroe, graduating in 1953 having been a four year cheerleader for the Wooden Shoed Canaries and Homecoming Queen. After receiving her teaching certificate from Southern States Teachers College in Springfield she taught in the Parker school district. On December 1, 1956 she was united in marriage to Marvin W. Begeman at Monroe, SD. They farmed and had dairy cattle on their farm north of Parker. Family was very important to Ramona and Marv as they rarely missed one of their kids events, and in later years attended many of their grandkids activities as well. She was an accomplished athlete herself, winning many county school track events as a teen, was an outstanding softball player and a standout bowler for many years. Grateful for having shared her life are her 4 children, Mike (Gale) Begeman, Sioux Falls, Jeff (Monica) Begeman, Ponte Vedra, Fl, Rochelle (Shane) Hyde, Pierre, and Scott Begeman, Viborg; 7 grandchildren, Matt, Mitch, Jordan, Justin, Christine, Tara, and Paige: and her 8 great grandchildren, Mason and Mavrick Begeman, James, Blake and Nolan Begeman, Berklee Begeman, River and Kimber Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Marvin on September 14, 2020, a sister Arlyn and a brother Harold.
