Roger A. Voss, 65, Sioux Falls, SD died Thursday, January 12, 2017 after a 3 years courageous battle with cancer. Funeral mass will be at 11:00am Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Sioux Falls with burial at Rosehill Cemetery, Parker. Visitation with family present will be from 5:30-7:30pm Tuesday at Heritage Funeral Home, Sioux Falls with a Scripture Service to be said at 7:30pm Tuesday evening. Arrangements by Hofmeister Jones Funeral Home. Roger Alan Voss was born on January 25, 1951 at Worthington, MN to Alfred and Eleanor (Lenz) Voss. He was raised on the family farm 7 miles north and 3 miles east of Adrian, MN where he helped his father on the farm. He attended St. Mary's Catholic School in Wilmont and graduated from Adrian High School in 1969. After high school he attended Southwest Minnesota Technical College in Jackson, MN and received a degree in electrical and mechanical drafting. On May 6, 1972 Roger married the love of his life, Karen Deelstra at St. Christina Catholic Church in Parker, SD. They made their home in Sioux Falls for 18 years where they raised their 3 children. They moved to the outskirts of Sioux Falls where they built their dream home where he lived the remainder of his life. Roger worked at Raven Industries for 27 years as an electrical and mechanical draftsman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and camping with his family. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Karen; children Barb (Lyle) Berens, Humboldt, SD, Janet (Lee) Aaseng, Brandon, SD, and Randy (Cresa) Voss, Harrisburg, SD; 9 grandchildren, Morgan and Carson Berens, James, Theresa, Michael and Elizabeth Aaseng, Tate, Peyton and Knox Voss; 2 brothers, Jeff (Barb) Voss, Corcoran, MN and Glenn Voss, Sioux Falls; a sister Kathy (Mike) Roskop, Fairmont, MN; and his mother in law, Theresa Deelstra, Parker, SD. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Eleanor (Lenz) Voss.
