After a life of love and quiet grace, Suzanne Ness, 53, has passed.

Suzanne entered this world in 1966 — the start of a journey that would span 54 years.
The work of a parent is rarely finished — it lives on in the children she loved.
Suzanne Ness, 53 of Monroe, SD died Thursday, February 27, 2020 at home of natural causes. Funeral services will be at 11:00am Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at Calvary Reformed Church, Monroe with visitation on Tuesday from 5-7pm at the church. Arrangements by Hofmeister Jones Funeral Home. Suzanne Marie was born on October 3, 1966 at Beeville, TX to Princess Julianna (Cobb) and Richard Smook. She grew up in the Luverne, MN area where she attended school. After living in various places in the Sioux Falls area and having lived in South Carolina, she moved to Monroe in 2002. On May 12, 2012 she married the love of her life Roger Ness. She was employed at various job positions before becoming a licensed massage therapist. Most important in her life was being a wife, mother, friend and grandmother. She had a heart of gold. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband Roger; 4 children, Mike Zimmer, Larry Zimmer, Misty Smook and Crystal Smook; 9 grandchildren; 2 step children, Sara Ness and Elliot Ness; a sister Sharon Smook; 2 brothers, Jeff Smook and Tony Smook; and 2 half sisters, Secrett Broom and Tasha Thompson. She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving grandparents.
